What Causes Gas To Go Into Your Oil
What Causes Gas to go into your Oil?
Gas can enter your oil due to several issues in your vehicle’s engine. One common cause is a faulty fuel injector or a carburetor problem that leads to an overly rich fuel mixture, causing excess fuel to bypass the piston rings and mix with the oil. Worn or damaged piston rings and cylinders can also allow fuel to leak into the oil. Additionally, short driving trips can prevent the engine from reaching optimal operating temperature, resulting in incomplete combustion and fuel contamination of the oil. Lastly, a failing fuel pressure regulator can cause fuel to leak into the crankcase. Regular maintenance and timely repairs can help prevent these issues.
