If you have a flat tire, the first step is to safely pull over to a flat, stable surface away from traffic. Turn on hazard lights for visibility. Next, locate your spare tire, jack, and lug wrench from your vehicle’s trunk or designated storage area. Before lifting the vehicle, loosen the lug nuts slightly. Then, use the jack to raise the car until the flat tire is off the ground. Fully remove the lug nuts and the flat tire, then mount the spare tire onto the wheel bolts. Tighten the lug nuts by hand, lower the vehicle, and finish tightening the lug nuts with the wrench in a star pattern. Finally, stow away your tools and the flat tire securely, and drive cautiously to a service station to check the spare tire’s pressure and get the flat repaired or replaced as soon as possible.
